How do you measure FULFILLMENT?
The feminine revolution has allowed us to be eitherbreadwinners –OR– caregivers… or even some combination of both. When we first made the decision to work at home, we were willing to make sacrifices… but are we still committed to living a simpler life? Maybe its time we change our definition of success.
A Reassessment of the Family Narrative
The “new equality” is no longer exclusive to gender roles. RealEQUALITY means valuing FAMILY just as much as Career. The truth is that career and family reinforce one another. In fact, caretakers who ARE ALSO breadwinners have a proven track record in this decade… perhaps it’s because we’ve ALLOWED ourselves to have a broader range of experiences— therefore allowing ourselves to embrace (without apology!) our capabilities and creative ideas.
WE ARE PROGRESS.
This is absolutely the age of SOLUTION. So, if you have a challenge…well… let’s just say you better figure out a way to capitalize on it before someone else does!
Juggling work and family is no longer just awoman’s problem… it is a FAMILY problem.
...Which is yet ANOTHER indication that the revolution for PARENT equality is already occurring.
We have already achieved– and surpassed — what was completelyunthinkable just 30 years ago. America’s newest family breadwinners make up 49% of women and that means more men are staying home… cooking, grocery shopping, CARETAKING— and doing their fair share of housework. (Bravo to our men!)
Equality for All
Bread-winning and Care-giving are EQUALLY necessary for human survival and thriving conditions of our families. We need to recognize that the work that women have traditionally done is just as important as the work that men have traditionally done- no matter who does it.
Great leaders and innovators have an important place in this world— the same as great mothers and great fathers…and the two are not mutually exclusive.
On this show…
We will explore many of the recent experiences that BOTH men andwomen have had as PARENTS and INNOVATORS in the last few decades… and how it has brought us to one of the most excitingentrepreneurial revolutions the world has ever seen.
As caregivers and breadwinners, the ability to adapt and prepare is a timeless leadership attribute. Leadership (like parenthood) is NOT a position, but rather… a process of INFLUENCE.
