Your Struggles Are Your Contributions to the World

April 12, 2014 By Ally

Whatever challenges you are up against are opportunities for you to resolve — not just for yourself, but for the rest of the world.

Back by popular demand, it’s a free coaching day!

Whatever you are feeling limited by, now is your chance to find a solution before paying it forward to someone else. That is how it works in the parent entrepreneur culture. It is no accident that we were put in the driver’s seat just when the world needed an entrepreneurial revolution. It’s now up to us to pave the way and often that involves creating new routes to a new destination.

If you are a self-employed parent, more opportunities just opened up for you to get exposure and connect with others who are on your team!

This Week’s Co-Host

Tania Mulry, Amaze Media

tania.mulryIn mid-2010 Tania Mulry, a mother of three young boys, came up with a plan to help address schools’ shrinking budgets and assist businesses eager to attract more families and turn them into loyal customers.

Frustrated by the constant flow of school fundraisers – from gift wrap and cookie dough to pizza nights and raffle tickets – Tania knew there had to be a better way for businesses to support education and impact school budgets. She combined an extensive understanding of business, location-based marketing, technology, school involvement and motherhood to create a unique mobile application: edRover.

Tania recruited a team of professionals who shared her vision to develop the platform, and began the rigorous process of forming a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization. She established a board of directors, began reaching out to potential corporate partners and obtained a list of 99,000 qualified schools across the nation. Less than a year later, Tania’s vision became a reality when the edRover application launched early 2011.

edRover adeptly integrates location-based marketing, social networking and solid business principles to address a really big social issue: declining school budgets. At the same time, edRover addresses the needs of businesses – driving customers and increasing loyalty. It’s a win-win-win for businesses, schools and concerned citizens.

The mobile application can be downloaded to an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad (more platforms are in the works) and school supporters can begin directing funds from participating businesses to the school of their choice. EdRover, Inc. will continually track each visit recorded using the mobile application and will tally the total amount of funds due to each school monthly.

edRover is designed to take the pain out of school fundraising for businesses by offering a scalable, turnkey solution to support any (or many) of the 99,000 schools across the country. At the same time, it makes it easier for parents to earn funds for their schools doing many of the same activities they already do – shopping, dining and having fun with their families.
