Not everyone has the same 24 hours in a day.
I admit that it was always a bit irritating to hear an arrogant (and intolerant) business guru insinuate that we all have a CHOICE in how we manage our time.
If you are a work-at-home mom, you know that these apparent rules of time do not apply to YOU. If you are a mom with YOUNG children, you may feel like you are living in an alternate universe where 10 hours back on earth translates into a mere 30 minutes on Planet Mom. Yep, finding the time to work in your home business while raising a family might possibly the biggest paradox there is.
Not all hours are the same ….and neither are the children.
Sure, there may be some children who were born able to happily entertain themselves while you sit behind your laptop.
(I personally haven’t met any of them, but I hear that they exist SOMEWHERE…)
What is more common (and less talked about) is the temper-tantrum throwing toddlers (like my oldest) who wouldn’t hear of it. Attempting to work while parenting one of these adorable monsters is not at all recommended as it might lead to a mommy melt down (as it did in my case. Ahem.)
As one of the most challenged work-at-home mom’s in town, I had very little “village support” and a VERY small budget for child care. Therefore, I was forced to find a way to build my business with what little time I had. With only 6 un-interrupted hours of kid-free quiet time in a single week, I was determined to make every second count.
The secret is in THE SCHEDULE.
It took months of frustration (and an overwhelming lack of sleep) but through a game of trial and error, I eventually figured how to PRODUCE MORE in LESS TIME by adopting a very strategic weekly schedule… complete with cancellation policies, flexibility, confirmations and a solid system of task listing.
All of my best time management secrets will be revealed! If you are a BUSY MOM who feels like she never gets anything accomplished… I GUARANTEE this hour of radio will improve upon your chaotic life and maybe even give you a few extra minutes of time to pee. Meet Gavin Zuchlinski!
Founder of ACUITY SCHEDULING, Gavin Zuchlinski’s a tech geek at heart—this is an undisputed fact. In the very beginning, at a precarious time when the “Gold Digger” song and Juicy Couture track suits were still a thing, Zuchlinski was just starting off his professional career at Berico Technologies, where he worked as a very James Bond kind of contractor for NSA (National Security Agency). We’re including that because it sounds very important, but soon later, (after tightening his bow-tie before zooming off in his make-believe Aston Martin) Zuchlinski left Berico to become CTO of BTS Software Solutions, where he developed cellular geolocation systems for the Department of Defense and didn’t even mind the significant number of acronyms involved with his title. There, he quickly helped significantly grow the company’s product and revenue, but left in 2013 to work full-time on his real baby: Acuity Scheduling.
