Healthy Happy Hormones!

June 30, 2015 By Ally

The Blame Game

When we aren’t feeling our best, it’s easy to go down the list of “undesirable” conditions that are out of our control.
Mercury in retrograde.
The weather.
A change in barometric pressure.
Hormones.

Hormones!!!

Do you still blame your hormones for those days that you are feeling “off”? Or worse— sequester yourself to confinement? All I have to do is check the calendar to be reminded that I was feeling exactly the same way approximately 28 days earlier. Curses! Foiled again.
and again…
and again…

You might have been warned by older friends and family members that it would only get worse as the years rolled by…but …what if it doesn’t have to be that way?

Instead of battling the dreaded hormone fluctuations (or changes in weather, energies, etc etc) …what if we learned to work WITH them?

Hormones… like everything else… serve a purpose.

…And despite how it may feel, hormones do not exist for the sole purpose of making you feel irritable and insecure. On the contrary, emotions like these are only indications that you aren’t aligned properly to the natural course of your cycle.

It’s been said in holistic communities that your hormones are communicating important messages to you about what your body needs. Instead of battling the discomfort of the shift, simply sitting in stillness and listening to your body will often result in a more positive experience.

Hormones remind us when we are in need of rest and rejuvenation.

Busy moms have busy cycles. It’s important to be aware of when yours is coming to an end so that you can prepare. Schedule in time to relax, reboot and unwind so that you can fully jump into a new cycle feeling refreshed and reinvigorated.

Stop hiding you womanhood!

Our cycles play a large role in who we are and what we become during certain times of the month. Ladies, we are making a lot of progress in gender equality, but one thing I’ve noticed is that we still tend to hide many of the components that make us WOMEN.

What would happen if we talked about it openly?

I don’t know about you, but I am tired of pretending our cycles don’t exist. I have found that the more I embrace ME and everything that makes me who I am, the better I’ve been able to deal with cycle fluctuation. My hormones haven’t changed, but I have improved in the way I deal with them.

Reject the paradigm and start a new one!

Hormones are not your enemy and they do not “get worse” as you get older. Your relationship with your hormones can improve and so can the quality of your life… cycle round.

On Today’s show…

Let’s get comfortable talking about HORMONES and all things that make us WOMEN. (Men, you may want to tune in for this as well!)
