The path of least resistance certainly has it's perks... ..but the road less traveled has adventure and character. Ever since SoCal weather began hitting triple digits, I shifted my morning workout routine into swimming laps. To keep my hands from cramping, I use resistance gloves --- which have been largely beneficial in building more muscle tone in my arms, as well as helping me to move faster through the water with the pull of the resistance. Resistance gives you something substantial to grab hold of and propel you forward! While resistance may often look like conflict or contrast, the juxtaposition of it produces added depth that allows you to easily increase your EFFORT and … [Read more...]

Your Show. Your Episode. YOUR VOICE.
Moms, I'm handing over the show TO YOU today. Earlier this week, I took my boys for a quick run to the grocery store. They were rowdy as 6 and 9 year olds usually are and I found myself exhausted from hearing my own voice: "Put that down. Please don't touch that. Do you mind keeping your voice down? Please don't run. Hold my hand and look for cars." The glances that I received from many onlookers told me that they had --- an opinion. I was harshly reminded of how little the majority of the world understands (and tolerates) parents and the great lengths we go to in keeping everyone else comfortable when a child is present. After posting my rant on Facebook, the comments poured in from … [Read more...]

Always 2 Steps Ahead…
You've gotten a lot of advice on how to balance it all... ... and if you've been a parent for more than a few years, you could probably write your own book about how to juggle family, career, marital relationships and personal fulfillment.
